The Native Hot Chocolate of Camiña Balay Nga Bato | ILOILO CITY

Camiña Balay Nga Bato is one the old houses in Iloilo City that open for the public last 2010, manage by the 6th generation of their family.

I arrived early around 7:30am, but the business hours operate by 8:00am, since I want only to drink a hot chocolate the caretaker allowed me to enter the house and serve a delicious Hot Chocolate, she says that it is okay to arrived early because the hot chocolate is easy to prepared unlike, a buffet breakfast you need to give them a call and make a reservation in advance, minimum of 10 persons.

Before touring around the house, the lady told me to watch the 5 minute short introduction about the history of the House. The house was more than 100 year old already, but the place is well-maintained as they use it for a special event like breakfast and dinner buffet and any special occasion , reservation needed.

I pay 150.00 pesos for the hot chocolate with a biscuit and for one time refilled. I like their hot chocolate because it is pure cocoa with milk instead of water to dilute it and they don't add more sugar. This is one the best Hot chocolate I ever tasted. It is also good with a compliment of ripe Mango and "Ibus" ilongo term which means a flavored sticky rice.

I enjoyed my tour in Camiña Balay Nga Bato for 150.00 pesos it's worth it.
